A 15 éves leányzó vezeti a csajok ranglistáját, és az örök ranglistán is az első három közt szerepel. „Dobtam rá egy próbát 4 nappal ezelőtt, de akkor azt gondoltam ez túl nehéz választás, mert már csak két mászónap volt hátra a trip végéig. Tegnapelőtt a pihinap után visszatértünk Oliana-ba, ahol meg akartam próbálni a Mind Control-t, de túl sokan akarták mászni, így esett a választás a Joe Blau-ra ismét. Ekkor értettem meg a mozdulatokat és toltam egy igen jó próbát. Az utolsó mozdulatból estem ki, mert ekkor már vér folyt az ujjaimon. Ma fáradtnak éreztem magam és a bőröm is totál kész volt, de ismét belementem és egy hosszú küzdés után végül elértem a standot.” Laura 12 évesen mászta első 8a-útját, és kevesebb mint 3 év kellett ahhoz, hogy 8a-ról 9a-ra ugorjon. Eddigi „alkotásai” még a hölgyektől igen ritka 8b+ flash és több 8b OS is, de nyitott már 8c+ utat és ismételte a világ első 8c útjaként számon tartott Güllich klasszikust; a Wallstreetet, Frankenjuraból. Az idei év pedig bitangul indult. Két nap alatt két 8c utat zsebelt be (T1 Full Equip és Fish Eye), ehhez csapta még hozzá a Joe Blau-t. Azt gondolom ha átszikkad a köteles versenyzésre is, méltó ellenfele lesz Janjanak és Ashimanak. Utóbbi hölgy most érte el azt a korhatárt, ami a Világkupákon való részvételhez kell, Április végén pedig az Olasz színeket képviselő Laura is eléri a 16 éves kort – ami a streemelések minőségi fejlődését is beleértve számunka azt jelentheti, a legizgalmasabbnak ígérkező női Döntők jöhetnek! Főleg ha azt sem felejtjük el, hogy Jain Kim decemberben 8c flash-t és 8c+ second go-t küldött Yangshuo-ban. Szóval a feministák előnyben… kemény lesz az idei világkupasorozat.

Fontainebleau nem válogat, úgy látszik egyszer az életben mindenkinek meg kell inni a bleaui eső levét. Ezúttal a fogásgyártásról és hazai/külföldi mászóvideóik minőségéről híres 7C+ csapatnak egy része látogatott el a francia erdőbe. Az eredetileg több mint két hétre tervezett szilveszteri trip során végül a ködös, pimpós, nedves és lefagyott kimászások mellett azért sikerült a szárazabb napokon pár ikonikus tömb tetejére kimászni - már ha nem volt az ónos eső odafagyva... Így esett el például Nánditól a sokunk bakancslistáján szereplő Control Technique 7C+. A többiek is másztak e fokozat környékén, de az igazi nehéz vadakhoz most az idő sajnos nem volt kegyes.

Alexey Rubtsov, the World Champion 2009 and #3 in the World Cup 2016, has done his first 8C, From Dirt Grows The Flowers in Chironico. It has been a long time project for the Russian but interestingly he did it just over four attempts on this trip. "From the beginning of 2016 I don't work, so now, for the first time I consider myself professional. So I feel myself better now, and climb better! I will try to get a ticket to Olympics, but I still don't decide if I will change my training program to become overall climber or to stay just a boulderer, that might be enough! This year I will go on all Boulder World Cup stages, World Games, maybe will try to compete in Lead once.My nearest plans are to go to ABC nationals in USA and little bit rock climbing there. After again training, because soon will be first WC!"

peter dawson has had a great trip to Spain again. He has done his first two 8b flashes and also his first two 8c+'s, Blomu R3 in Santa Linya and Joe Blau in Oliana. In the Junior 8a ranking game the 18-year-old is #6. "The most valuable lesson I can take from this trip is to enjoy the process. If it was easy it wouldn’t be worth doing.
