The Hollow - another innovation from Eman

Emanuele Pellizzari who has been in the business for 25+ years and now also sells bolts and anchors have come up with an interesting innovation which could significantly reduce the cost and maintenance work of anchors. - The gate is hollow (hole), and as far as we know it's the only one in this business. You wonder why nobody ever thought about it before... Why hollow gate? All traditional gates carabiners made for belays, they face the problem that the hole where the spring is placed to activate the gate, faces DOWN. This means that water, dust and whatever, get in the hole and cannot be evacuated. As first, it stiffens the gate, till it make it to stay open. Carabiners made for belays are a hassle to remove to clean the hole/spring. If you spry the gate with oil, you make it worse = more dust stuck with the oil. THIS biner has the gate that is HOLLOW, so you just spry it with mountain bike chain lube oil, till you see the oil pouring down the gate (the blue one in the photo): the spring will be clean and very alive. Basically this is a carabiner for belays that can be "maintained" in the field without removing. How have you protected your great innovation? Innovation courtesy of me. They will R&D quickly once they see it. Do not confuse R&D with "research and development" with "rip off and duplicate". Previously, among other innovations from Eman, he suggests just to place a small plastic tube on wire gates which would make such anchors impossible to open while cleaning a route.
