What news from beta.8a.nu ?

Hi, What news from the beta? Thanks for the job :-)
This is ridiculous... Guys, maybe you should consider making the website open source, I am pretty sure a bunch of people (including me) would find some free time to save the world from the misery of having to use the current version

I have asked the programmers and I have been told the new website should be up and running before september :)

It seems that there has been yet another delay in launching the new 8a.nu website. What’s the new launch date? Never mind answering, we all know by now it’s not going happen... EVER! Who actually still believes in these lies?
I have been told that there will be a beta that will be shown internally the next week :)
Why Shame and Guilt Are Functional: https://positivepsychology.com/shame-guilt/
@Adam, for that very reason (also for not being able to easily access my data in programatic ways) I have decided to develop my own logbook manager. It is up and running with feature set which I believe surpasses 8a.nu's. I have also focused on clean and modern design that is mobile friendly. At the moment it's only me and handful of friends using it but I was thinking about open sourcing it and seeing it grow should there be enough interest.
Sounds great, I've been thinking about the same but lacking time. Plus building the route database seems a hard task
Come one guys, there are several alternative platforms out there for managing your climbing logbook. thecrag.com, 27crags, ukclimbing to name a few. If you're not happy with what is provided here, move your data (there are even tools existing to do that). It is not necessary to reinvent the wheel. And I don't understand the topic of this thread. You ARE on the beta website. Since years ;-)
But what if I am not happy with what's provided over there too?
@ jens Has it been shown internally this week? let me guess.....nope xD xD xD what a joke dude
Hello, I am using this site for a long time and think you are doing a great job on providing news, blogs, logbooks, etc for climbers. And I am pretty blank in what goed on behind the site, but have some experience in running a site myself. And migration from outdated sites to a new site that wil be using new technics, other databases, etc can be a pain in the ass. However, losing people from the site because it does not provides the requirements of this time is not something you want, I think. For instance a mobile interface would be very handy, because, I think, a lot op people us smartphones these days to access the internet, alse good security and usability is a thing that's pretty mandatory these days. Hope the new site will be available soon :-)
(I worked as a freelancer for 8a.nu on the beta site until Vertical Life started investing in 2017.) It’s now been more than 1.5 years since the beta.8a.nu was taken down (feb 2018). Jens, you said the beta site would be up again once they fixed the issues where people could scrape the site’s data right? But now, all this time later, we still have to use the same outdated and mobile unfriendly search and routes form to add our routes to our scorecard. We keep hearing that it will be released in a month. Why don’t you at least give some access to this new site you’re working on to gather our feedback, just like we did with the old beta site? If that is not possible, at least give us something to look out for, some designs, a list of great new features, a blog with progress updates. Anything is better than just silence. Not really related, but some time ago I was playing around with my scorecard data and created this experiment to show my data in a new way. Feel free to copy the code and add something like this to the new site. Would be cool! https://teameh.github.io/visualisations/build/index.html source: https://github.com/teameh/teameh.github.io/tree/master/visualisations
The webmaster says they are almost there and that they can grant the access to the current development version. This version will be released soon to closed beta-group.
I don't know exactly when it appeared, but as of now, on the current 8a.nu, there's a column on your own scorecard "Click to post on FB wall", and this column is way too narrow, introducing multiple line breaks, not so nice to look at. Also, regarding beta.8a.nu, why not just put the whole thing on github, post in the forum here about current issues, and people will eventually try to fix it?
This website hasn’t worked in many months. It seems like it never loads and when it does work, it works for maybe 5 minutes. Any word on a a fix or update?

It seems there has been a delay again. It must be really close now as I was told that last week I should be testing the new beta version but nothing yet I am afraid.
Guys instead of beta testing it internally just realease it to the public. I am pretty sure (well I am not but still) it will be better than the current website...
