What count as a second go?

Anybody who knows the definition of a second go? I thought a second go ment that after you fail/fall in your first attempt on a route(onsight or flash), you go back down without climbing to the top first. Others say youre allowed to climb to the top after you fall, and that it still counts as a second go when you try again. With dynamic falling you could climb what you climbed before you fell, more than once. And what if you fell both at the beginning and the end of a route? Is it still a second go? (haven't been able to find info about this on the 8a.nu pages..?)
Second Go is the second time that you leave the ground. Huge differences occur in how "on sight" the second go is. Sometimes you work the route for 2 hours and have climbed every move 5 times. Sometimes you fall on your On Sight attempt and directly lower off to the ground. I would not call the first example "second go", i would call it "the first redpoint attempt after working out". But officially it is Second Go.
dummy, please ignore
"Sometimes you fall on your On Sight attempt and directly lower off to the ground." I'd believe this definition to be a good one, and the most interesting one. The notion of "second go" is quite a bit worthless with the actual definition, where you can work on the routes for as long as you want, as long as you don't lower down. Disappointing.
