Just wondering What bouldering grade people climbing at after a year of climbing to see how good i am compared to others.
Im climbing at around V4.
By the way im only 15.....
Chris Sharma climbed the hardest route in North America at the time (5.14c) when he was 15, after 2 years of climbing, which is somewhere near V12/V13 on the bouldering scale. But, to humor you, I sent Helicopter in Morrison, CO within a year of starting, which is V5/V6
Grades dont mean much really, you can really only compare yourself to others if they are doing the same problems as you. There is alot of easier or harder problems that are graded the same, some with more harder moves, some with just one hard move, some places are sandbagged, some places have different styles of climbing. If you are doing V5's after a year, your doing well but just remember there is always someone out there who is better than you, just concentrate on having fun.
Ive been climbing for one year as of this month, and I just sent my first V9 a few months ago. I haven't sent another one since then, but I can regularly send V8's.
I started out pretty good. V3 my first month. by the end of my first year i was climbing V5 consistanty and had done 1 V6. but in my case i have not had steady progression. This is my 5th year of climbing and i climb V8 pretty regularly and i have done 1 V9.
What bouldering grade were you climbing at after a year of climbing?
