gday, ive read in a bunch of ben moon articles in mags and on the internet that he
climbed the first 8c in the world in '89 with agicourt.
why do the mags say this when wallstreet was done in 87?
strange days.
Because back in those days they belevied that he indeed was the first to do 8c. A lot of good climbers were in buoux / south of france those days and nobody could climb that line, except Ben Moon.
Later, people also considered other ascents, that at the time were not well known (maybe ignored?) and now generally Wall street is considered the first 8c.
But the fact that ben moon was the best climber at that moment in south of france still holds true.
