Jens, I agree with some of your points. Kids have climbed world-class. So have some in their 50s. I disagree with the men/women equivalency. Johanna did not equal the best males: she climbed a route with extra holds, and still did not make the top, as the male winner did. Charlotte is as good at onsight as Ondra? As Sharma, Patxi and Ramon? I would love to put together a series of routes to test that proposition. Anyone care to put odds on how it comes out? Brooke's achievement is remarkable. But 9-year-old boys have climbed harder. Even at this age, when boys and girls are much closer in physical strength and ability than at any later time in their lives, the best boys out-do the best girls.
