The ultimate climbing van?

Thinking of buying a used van(5-8 thousand euros) for upcoming climbing trips. I would greatly appreciate any tips/thoughts on what to look for, suggested models etc. I've seen  a lot of VW Transporters on the road; comments? Thanx!
