It's a Dynamic Move competition. Not a high jump competition. In my eyes, you have a given set of holds and features. Start here, finish here. The means to reach the end are irrelavent as long as you do not use any artificial aid. What if someone was freakishly tall and could static that? Loophole in the rule book =P Thinking outside the box is one of the things that makes climbing such an intriguing sport.

configuration of footholds can be used but feet must not touch the starting
handholds.
