Summer crags in the states

J V
driving from california to north carolina, I'm headed out east in July and I was wondering what spots would be good to stop at for bouldering - i'll be driving along a northerly route - any suggestions would be great - thanks
for bouldering..... city of rocks ID (no guide, just lots of boulders), black hills SD, Rocky mountain national park CO. routes.. rifle, high uintas UT, wild iris/sink canyon. maple canyon ut. nate
the northern cali coast is perfect all summer long!

i know but i gotta go across the country and i wanted to check out some new areas...
gotcha. then how bout toulomne, wild iris and rmnp indeed.
check out maple and rifle and the red river gorge. In that order. I wouldn't stop anywhere else! Maple's just plain unique, rifle's the best in the US, and (sorry to say) if you've been climbing in siurana, boux, and ceuse, you're gonna think wild iris and sinks suck.
