Hi all, maybe this could be a repetitve post, but i'm still not 100% sure about it. For example, if i make a new route for me, do i make it an FA? When it's worth <traditional>? and <second go>? thanks!
FA = First ascent, Trad = Traditional, you place your own protection Second Go = You make the climb after you missed the onsight or flash. Yes, we should make this more clear :-)
Ok. So the FA is at the world level, not a personal one. good. When you mention "protection", Jens, you mean using friends instead of bolts i suppose. And finally, the -second go- is clear. So, if i make an ascent, which is not an world FA, just personal, None specification is needed? -make it easy :)-
no...you misunderstood the concept of a first ascent. it has nothing to do with world level. it just means, that you are the first person to make a redpoint (or on-sight) ascent of THAT particular route. it can be 3c+ or 9b+...doesn't matter. it does NOT mean that it is YOUR first ascent of a route. only, if no one before you has ever climbed it. many people semm to confuse this. i have seen quite a few "first ascents" of old classics in the scorecards...
During my weeked (21-24 May) I have foud a climbing shoes (Testarossa) on Misja Pec, under the route called 9A. If you own them, and you know its size, and distinctive characteristic, send me a mail ( [email protected] ). Ciao :) Edina
Hi, I wanted to know what you all think about having ascents logged in which are repeated ascents in less than the 12months overall. ยฟDo you think is moral? All my ascents are unique in a 12 months timetable. I've redpoint most of the hard ones againg, but I never mind to point them out, just if they are expired. Repeating an ascent is really easier. So, ยฟIs it "acepted" to have repeated ascents on the scorecard withing the 12 moths timetable?ยฟAre they valid points? take it easy
You can do what you want...it is not so important...when it comes to points. However, when it comes to climbing, I think you should focus on doing new routes instead of repeating old ones...it is much more fun and challenging I guess.
