Realization vs. Biographie - the ethic of naming

J V
I thought that unsent projects are named "Project" until someone sends and names it. Actually, i guess this post should be titled with "the procedure of naming" - I ask because the general sentiment seems to be that the original "biographie" has an 'un-natural' end...
It doesn't really matter, its an amazing line (both parts of it) but i can see it causes some confusion. The usual way to name an extension is to add something to the name of the first part, but as I already wrote, it doesnt really matter, lets go out to climb instead of discussing this route name. If I only could go climb, in Norway it's 7 degrees Celsius and raining...
Usobiaga names it Biographie.Sharma didn´t put any bolt so I don´t understand him.Lafaille is probably the really best climber of the world if we count big mountains, big walls, sport climbing etc.I think we must respect him and his name. BIOGRAPHIE.
The question is: does the person who bolts the route get to name it?; or does the person who does the first assent get to name it? In America the tradition is that the first assent names the route. The additional confusion on this route name is that the ENTIRE route was bolted and named Biographie. But since no one could do it an alternate lower finish was used and the name Biographie was listed on peoples scorecards and press releases. When Mr Sharma completed the full route, he named it in the tradition of his country, Realization, since by this point the "extension" was thought of as a different climb. So the second question is: if the entire route is claimed as Biographie, then what do you call the version that stops short of the final anchors? It would seem to me that the short climb ceases to exist and there is only 1 climb either called Biographie or Realization.
A mon avis, le nom de la voie devrait etre choisi par l'ouvreur et le premier qui a eu le Red Point. Les deux ont autant de credit.
Who gives a shit about the name! Call it whatever you want. I think it's fair enough if Sharma wants to call it Realization, but if you don't agree just call it Biographie. Basically i think it should be the climber who first sends the route that gets to name it, but then again; is the name of a route really that important. If you have climbed the lower part of Biographie/Realization, just give it the grade 8c+, and if you have climbed the whole route give it 9a+. it's really very simple. /jens

I thing Realization is right! Chris is the man!
yeah man! he sent it and he should give the route its name!
the climber in which sends the first ascent is naming the route for his honor
After sending the route Silvain released an interview where everything about the route gets clarified. You can find it here: FreakClimbing.com
