Thanks 8a for highlighting this issue. September last year coming back from a walk I came through the trees behind where people camp in Vans(col de guerins)it was grim!!! There was toilet paper all over the place even near the path. I am suprised however there are not toilets there already?Surely this would be part of the solution+charging for parking might be another part possibly?(if only as way of paying for the building of toilets). Personally I do not now who owns the land there I guess they have the power to do what they feel will favour the environment most-in order that it can recover.
Strongly agree with Frank! If you can afford to drive there and stay for week you can afford a topo and contribute to the bolting and you can afford to sty at the camping. When at the crag BURN your toilet paper. Thats not too much to ask.
For me the most important thing is to spread the awareness to others and when you see somebody creating some potential access problems you should bother and confront the persons. Of course, information campaigns like this one is also good but not as effective!
Then bring some water with you as you take your dump. But right now its been rainy in the Ceuse area. But please stay on topic! Do not divert this IMPORTANT thread in to the usual bull shit spry.
