Hello. In two weeks i'm going to East Hampton on Long Island near NY. I've been climbing about 6 years now so I'm kind of addicted :))
The question is: Do you know any places to climb (climbing gyms or rock crags, no diffrence)??
I would be very thankfull for any answers.
I am pretty sure there is a gym in LI that's ok ( http://www.islandrock.net/ ). Otherwise, in two weeks you may want to make the trek to Brooklyn to check out the gym my buddy and I are opening :). www.brooklynboulders.com .
Thanks man!! The "islandrock" gym doesn't look very proffesional but it exists and that's a good thing.
I saw the pictures of your gym and it looks preety impressive. I was just wondering if the man on the fourth picture isn't the guy from poland. If he is, i know him.
When i'll get there i'll be in touch. If you got some questions please write: [email protected]
Tanks once more...
hey man, thanks for the nice comments! Much appreciated. If you're talking about the guy with the red bull shirt, that's Ivan Greene. You may know him - he's a really strong dude who's come by a few times to help out and set problems. But he might be from Poland originally, that I don't know.
Anyhow, have fun over there and climb strong. Don't hesitate to write back if I can help. See you.
I am going to be there for a month in this summer too. Last year i found some small boulder at East Marion (http://www.newenglandbouldering.com/newyork/ny.html). It takes 1.5 hour from east Hampton. But, it is in a private beach and not so much boulder you can climb. Island Rock is may be two hours away or even more from East Hampton. Because East Hampton has always bad traffic in the summer. So, I am planning to bring my hang board over there.
I am living in Brooklyn. So I am very excited about BKB!!!
Please help! Know any climbing places in East Hampto (Long Island)
