Hello, I'm Luca from La Sportiva. The Miura Velcro will be available starting from april. The sizes are the same as for the classics Miura. For further information please visit: http://www.lasportiva.com/catalogue/catalogo.php?cat=10&cod3=555&Language=EN Thank you, ciao Luca
Hello Luca,
Iยดm Peter from Slovakia, but I planned visit Bergamo next week. Where is there a good shop with La Sportiva shoes in Bergamo, could you help me?
thank you
Peter
Let me share my experience with the new Miura Velcro.
I had the chance to receive a pair of the new Miura last summer from our local La Sportiva distributor. I must say that this is an awesome shoe, with one major drawback.
What I like:
- it is more agressive than the old Miura and it still has the agressive downturned shape after 8 months of climbign with it. The old Miura quickly becomes flat or even "upturned" after the first month of climbing
- the heel is perfect - it never disappointed me
- the tightening of the velcro system is exelent - easy to put on and put off and keeps the shoe enough tightened. However it can not beat the laces, but I am not that picky.
- it never streched so I could feel it bigger than it shoud be. You know how with some shoes after a few months they strech too much and are not that precise. This never happened with the Miura Velcro.
- the rubber - exelent
What I do NOT like:
- toehooking is absolute nightmarethe! I was very disappointed to understand that it is very difficult to make a proper toehook - the velcro straps are made of that slick nylon material and there is NO friction with the rock! I find this very very important, especialy for bouldering where many times agressive toehooking is esencial. I noticed immediately that the velcro straps are very easy to damage and soon they will tear off. And so it happened - the front velcro strap tore completeley after a toehook I made on a boulder problem - and this was only my 7th time at the rocks! Actualy it was not the velcro strap that tore (although it was severely damaged) but the small loop that holds the metal ring around which the velcro strap loops. Tomorrow I will post some photos to see what I am talking about.
This problem exist on both shoes, with the right one worse than the left one.
Since then I can no longer boulder with these shoes, although they are perfect for it, and I feel the loose infront as the front velcro straps are not usable.
So, Luca, my question is will you fix that bug? Because I like the shoe very much but I will NEVER buy it again if I know that I can not toehook with it.
Hello Ruslan and thank you for your feedbacks. Don't worry about it. The pair you tried was only a sample. Last summer the shoe was very different from now that we have the final version. Usually we use the first samples only for showing them to our distributors. They are never definitive. So, is like you climbed with another shoe, belive me. Now all the things are fixed and the Miura Vs is ready to go on the market after very long tests. Thak you. Luca
