I know this question sounds total gumby, I just wanted to hear if there was any positive votes for working through the pain on a severely too-small shoe. I wear street size 44.5, got the Miura VS in size 41, they've been really painful but I've kept wearing them in hopes that they'll ease up. I'm getting pain mostly on the big toe knuckle. It could be that the toebox is just too small for my foot at that size. I've had them for a long time, but I haven't worn them for consistent weeks of climbing - haven't been in a place where that was an option for that long. Are there any big yes-votes for the Miura VS after a long time being worn? I know the shoes are great, but I'm still getting a lot of pain. (The toe velcro also wore almost fully through after their first 3 granite toehangs, which pissed me off.) Should I keep trying to break em, or sell em? (alternately, any great tips for stretching leather shoes quickly?)
I'm 44.5-45 with street shows and 41 with the VS. If you climb a few times a week it should be all good in a just a week. But if you don't I would wear them while watching tv or sitting infront of the computer without the velcro, do 5-15 mins on 10-20 mins off, and do like 2-3 sets a day, or more, should be good in a few days.. and the toe velcro just sucks, they make out f shitty material..
I had the same problem with my Miura VS and did not manage to enlarge them. I had been training for a half of a year 2-3 times per week with Miura untill they gone holey on the toes but even so they still were painful. The toe velcroes were also destroyed. Than I bought solutions and the pain has gone.
It very well could be that the toebox is just canting my toe at an unpleasantly sharp angle - I'm finding that the shoes are very snug but not painful when I put them on, but when I use them on small chips, they're quite painful. So it may be that no matter how the leather stretches, the toe box will never make room for me.
Miura VS ... keep or sell...
