Hello, A group of friends and I are planning a trip to Mallorca this summer to go deep water soloing. Being the first time we have a few questions on how to do this (travel and accommodation wise). We would be planning to get around by scooters, however don't know which are would be the best to stay in. To reach each spot, is it necessary to have a boat, or can you just swim there? Or is it maybe even better to buy a 20 euro rubber boat with little paddles? Oh and also, is the sea rough around the months around June, July? Thanks, Anthony
Hi, went there last year... First of all, the best season there is late auguste and september because in june or july it will be very very hot. In september the aire is cooler but the water has kept all the summer heat. I would not recommend to go there in July. Secondly, all the biggest areas are in the south-east (except the famous Porto Christo wich is on the east side) but i don't think there are places to rent scooters there (i might be wrong). We rented a car (using internet) in Palma, it's great because they pick you up at the airport and drop you there when you leave. I would not recommend scooters cause if you don't sleep in a hotel, where would you leave your stuff while climbing... For the rest we slept to local places (using couch surfing) or next to our car in the sleeping bags. The good thing when you sleep in the house of locals is that they show you the local parties and food and you get to meet new people. For the boat it is usless for 99% of the places, you get there mostly by downclowbing on easy parts (scary haha :p). Using an inflatable boat is useless but can be a lot of fun :)
