I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on what it would be like to live and climb in Turkey for a year. Would an 8c climber be kept entertained for a year?! How about gyms if it is raining or too hot? While I'd love to live in the south of France or Spain the teaching opportunities for somone without a euro passport are few and far between! Any advice from someone who's been there would be grand!! p.s. this is what happens on a Sunday when it is raining outside :-(
I have lived here for three and half years now and I teach English at a private school in Izmir. Your best option is Antalya, a city of about 1 to 1.5 million (I think). Geyikbayiri and Olympos are both very close and between the two you have over 700 routes. As far as I know there is potential for more routes. There are also schools in Antalya where you could work. I will warn you that summers are hot, but then again you only want to stay for a year.
