Interview with nalle

Recently, Finnish 18-year-old Nalle Hukkataival managed to repeat Dreamtime, 8B+, at Cresciano. We asked him to tell us a little about himself: Who is Nalle Hukkataival? I'm 18 years old (-86 by the way) Finnish boulderer. How long have you been bouldering? Did you practice any other sports before bouldering? Well, I first started climbing maybe about 5 or 6 years ago. I climbed indoors almost one winter, but then I got bored of the whole indoor thing and stopped climbing. A year or two after that I tried bouldering outdoors and that was my thing. I haven't really done any other sports. Do you have any specific goals? Nothing special. Just climb a lot. Hopefully some hard stuff. Do some comps... Do you train a lot? How? In winter you have to train inside because there's much snow and cold. Usually I train something like 5-6 times a week, just bouldering, sometimes something crazy like 8-12 times a week. Not very nice. Tell us about 'Dreamtime'. I think I tried it for 6 days. After like four days I felt pretty comfortable on it, but there were two moves that I could do otherwise easily, but my feet just kept popping off on one of these moves every try. I really had to concentrate on my footwork to make both moves happen on one try. When I finally did it, it didn't feel too hard. It's a great problem. One of the best. What gets you motivated? Just bouldering outdoors. Hard projects. Any plans for the near future? Travel around, visit new places, climb as much as possible... Well, like we said before, it doesn't really seem as though Nalle has reached his limit, does it?
