This is impressive. The reason why we did not publish the news is that 8a do not want to promote dead potential climbing and that the route is considered a 7c.
I heard it's 7b+. Easy as it is, it is nevertheless a serious undertaking, and in the history of rock climbing an extremely important route. Just thought I'd point it out since it's been on my "wish list" since I started climbing. And great effort from Dave to repeat it.
