This is obviously a joke, and it will be modified by the editors of the site. The danger is more with those who cheat for only one or two ascends, or adding a grade artificially to their routes/pbs, to have a little more points, or saying it was os whereas it's wrong... When you have repeats or F.A. written on magazines, it can be wrong, but it is the responsibility of the journalist to be sure of the facts. Here, nobody is responsible for cheating people. Thus, even if i'm not cheating and if most of the climbers are not cheaters, the fact there is absolutely no control makes no credibility for 8a.nu ! In each place where there is a famous crag, when there are rumours, there is always someone who can objectively confirm it. A honest climber will always find eyewitness or will even make a film to prove his ascend. None of these methods can be used on 8a.nu. What could be done to help 8a.nu credibility ?? (first : use real person name for all users !)

yes but here obviously it was someone with the intention to prove that everyone can put wat he wanted in his scorecard: did you read it? spot: secret, and the level only 9b & 9b+ with completely invented name.... i understand this is diffucult to check every add in scorecard but here.... it was so big....

Yeah, you're right this has been and still is a problem. It's impossible for us to check every new entry and naturally it's easy to cheat and enter fakes. We always try to delete the fakes but sometimes it's hard to know... I mean it's impossible to know for sure someone's a liar. We can't monitor what's going on everywhere in the world and there are heaps of really strong, unknown climbers out there. Hence, it's impossible for us to guarantee any kind of correctness. The rankings are far from a "truth" - anyone can write anything if they think it's funny. I know for a fact, people don't want to participate because of this. They don't find the rankings serious. Hopefully this will change, now that we're introducing the log-book or info-card, where it's not about points and rankings.
