by the way... the grade conversion table you suggest has a (slight) mistake. UIAA VIII+ does not correspond to french 7b. most climbers list routes that are VIII+ as 7a+. this seems to make sense. french 7b is usually translated to VIII+/IX-. i know this might be of only marginal importance, but since the majority of your members operate in this grade range... if you disagree, i would of course happily upgrade all my VII+ to 7b...;-) just kidding
