edelrid crash pad

hey...get a solid pad and forget about the edelrid...the zippers suck (not solid enough) and so does the general craftsmanship on the pad (fabric etc.)...edelrid should have stuck with producing ropes and harnesses. 

I love mine. I don't have any of the issues of the previous poster. Perhaps a quality control issue? Again though, mines awesome, and I'd suggest em!

how is the foam compare to other brand? does the foam get soft quickly?

It's held up nicely, and I've slept on it many a night too!

My only complaints are the zipper at the bottom (deadpoint), it takes a while getting used to and still everytime I close it I am like "why the hell a zipper..." and that the shoulderstraps are quite long at the bottom. I've stepped on them and tumbled more then once. But it's BIG, the foam is great (a bit hard at first but softens), the soulderstraps are comfy (for a pad) and the outtermaterial is very tough.
