E6/7a

hi, i have a question about a route called "homegrown". its in the zillertal and in the guide it says that it's a E6/7a. i know it's not very usual to transfer the E grades into the french grades but could anybody say how hard this route would be in F grades? how hard do you have to climb to climb this route? maybe anybody knows the route or anybody else can tell me...

It is the British who have invented the grade conversion to French grades. When it comes to E6, it normally goes with a 6b+ supplemantory grade = 7b+. As your route is E6 7a, I would say that it should be like a very well protected 8a or so. Bare in mind also that the E-grade is based on the onsight attempt so it should be relatively easy to onsight. However, if you were to ask British climber, they might come up with different suggestion of that strange E6 7a grade.
