DATA for (social) research on (sport) climbing

Hi, I have a request for all the climbing community, hoping that someone has some suggestions for me. Besides being a(n addicted) climber myself, I am a sociologist, and I am very interested in the social aspects of climbing . I would like to investigate the social role of climbing (mainly sport climbing), since my own experience taught me that it has a great social function. I am not going to bother you with my detailed research ideas (but if anyone is interested I would be super happy to discuss the issue). What I would like to ask you is just some help in finding out previous research done on the topic and DATA gathered, by whichever means. Is anyone aware of any data collected on climbers? Of whichever type and from whichever source (qualitative/quantitative, i.e. from in-depth interviews/ethnographic studies to larger scales surveys...collecting any type of information, from socio-demographic characteristics to motivation, values and whatever available). I would first like to make a kind of inventory of all the available data. However, I plan to collect data myself at some point in the future... Thanks a lot to everyone! ~Anna
