Quick question has anyone had any troubles with bringing your crashpad with you on the airplane? Im flying on delta and the size of your luggage but must less then 62 inches using the formula of length plus width plus height. my pad comes out to be a couple inches bigger. Think there will be a problem?
I've had good and not so good experiences flying with my regular organic crashpad, or my original cordless pad back in the day. The best advice I can give is for you to curbside check your bags/crashpad and tip the skycap with at least $5 bill and a smile. Wouldn't hurt to have the fiver in your hand when they are checking your luggage in. If you're a little over, you're probably ok. I wouldn't try it with any of the oversized pads (mondo, big organic, voodoo, etc), that's just asking for trouble. I've always had bad luck when I go inside to the airline check-in window.
I specifically bought revolutions commando pad. It meets all airline requirements and it still a decent size pad. I wouldn't work any highballs with it, but it meets most needs. I took it out west with me and had no problems at any airports. the only negative was the commando only comes with a shoulder strap, so I had my mom (thanks mom) macgyver me a backpack style strap system for it.
