hello Does anyone know of some climbing shops around The Frankenjura area. I need to buy a rope and maybe some other stuff if the prices are ok. I would prefer to support small business rather than big chain stores. Thanks.
Try Rockstore in Betzenstein, pretty easy to find (they have red on black sign on the main road, about opposite the gas station), very good selection of climbing shoes but they also carry pretty much all the climbing gear you'll need in Frankenjura. http://www.rockstore-frankenjura.de/kontakt.htm http://www.rockstore24.de/ If you happen to be in Nuremburg Fietzophren (Bucher Str. 48a) or Toni Weiss (Schweiggerstr. 17) should als fit your profile.
