Hey! This is perfect, I was scouring the internet to try to find some climbing beta/partners for Israel in a couple weeks. i'm going to be in Jerusalem for several days and really want to go to Gai Ben Hinom (by the cinematheque, supposed to be sweet 5-20m routes between 5a-8a) I'm bringing my shoes and harness, but dont really have room to bring the rest of my gear. Lets go crank! my email is [email protected] -Ben South Lake Tahoe, California
First of all welcome to Israel! We have an Israel Alpine Club with lots of information and an active forum at www.israelalpine.org. The site is in Hebrew but in the front page in the middle there is a big button 'The Israeli Climbing Guidebook' which is in english and will give a lot of information (it's not fully updated with all the site). Near Jerusalem except the Gai Ben Hinom there are a couple of more site, the biggest one (Ein Fara) has more the a hundred sport routes from 5c to 8a~. In Jerusalem there is also a great climbing wall in the soccer stadium 'tedi'. You can mail me for more information, [email protected]. Avishai
