Climber writing

Not sure how much this belongs on 8a, but does anyone know of a decent piece of fiction that has been written about rock climbing or the rock climbing culture? I ask because I am something of an aspiring writer (and trad hardass). I was thinking about the lack of good climbing movies, and decided someone needed to write a good story with rock climbing as the backdrop, not as the pupose of the story itself (a means, not an end). I've been kicking some ideas around in my mostly useless brain. Does this sound like an idea worth following up? Would you read it? Reply w/ feedback, or suffer the consequences.
Check our Simon Mawers book "The fall". Also the other Boardman Tasker winners are worthy literature. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0349116520/qid=1093615642/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_27_1/026-7025661-6514053
