Watch out !!!! most of the times there are no busses on Mallorca!!! so dont take the bus (time) plans to serious. Either you make sure there will be a bus waiting for you after the flight or you go by taxi. Watch out!!!! it can be realy windy and rainy so make sure to have your tent placed secure. Cala Barques is a perfect location for camping. Pure nature, nice Climbing and sand beach+a lot of water. for renting a car you need to be 21 but you could rent a scooter its not very expensive and you'r able to visit more of the many nice climbing spots. you can reach "the Arch" for example in like 40mins. are you going to go routes or dws ing?? regarts Schauma
Where going to do a bit of both however although we will be bringing one or two ropes, our main intention is to do some dws :) We leave in about 10 days and we where thinking of renting quad bikes because it would be easier to carry all the equipment since we are flying into palma..  we most probably will buy the dws guidebook however are there area's around cala barques do go dws ing? the only problem with camping is where to leave the quads or scooters...are there places nearby for food water etc? thanks for the infoanthony

There are a lot of areas around and cala barques is one huge dws area here a link to see some of the areas: http://www.dwsworld.com/mallorca/ If you havnt done dws already Cala sa nau is a good place to get started since its not that high also Cala Santanyi got some nice walls id recommend to buy (at least) the rockfax deep water book since it covers cala barques and some other places in the east could you pls pm me since i cant send you a pm
Nice.. So then Cala Barques it is ... I did some research on the internet and it looks like an awsome place! I saw on a video and I think I read somewhere that the area is chained off or something... Do you camp on directly on the beach?  And sorry what does pm mean :P
Also from Plaza de Espaรฑa there is a train that goes to Manacor every hour and from there you can catch a tixi or hitch hike to Cala Barques. Manacor is more or less the same distance to Cala Barques as Porto Cristo but cheaper. The train is 2.40 versus the bus which is 7.60. I recommend hitch hiking cause it's really easy in Mallorca but be careful cause it's still illegal. And Cala Barques is paradise on Earth!!!
