Hello, I'm looking for a good spot to boulder near Barcelona, where I'm planning to stay for about 3 weeks just for the purpose of bouldering. I'm staying there from 11th Jun to 28th Jun, and I have several questions: 1. are there any conditions for bouldering at that time? I mean, does the temperature allow any bouldering? 2.I've heard of El Cogul and Cervia but is it any good during summer? 3.Are there any other nice sites in proximity of 200km? 4. Are there any buses from barcelona to El Cogul? 5. Is there any sense in going from barcelona to Albarracin during summer? 6. Are there any campings in barcelona you've been to? any recommendations? (probably the cheapest ones are the best) 7. Is there any way to rent a crash pad in Barcelona?
Hi! First of all, not the best time for coming bouldering to Catalunya)) The temperature may be too high for boldering, at least until evening. Of course you can go to Cogul and try climbing, but I'm sure you won't like 30ยบ and no shadow to hide...Just to say I went there 2 weeks ago and was climbing in a t-shirt. There are lots of places to bouldering, Can Boquet, Sant Joan de Vilatorrada and many others in less than 200 km. The place to go in this period will be eather Albarracรญn or Targassonne (even though it's not Spain, 178 km to get there). I don't know any campings around Barcelona and not sure if you can rent crashpad anywhere in the city, sorry can't help with that. I'd recommend to search for some local people who can take you bouldering/climbing the dates you'll be coming.
Thanks! Your post was very helpful! :) I'm going to visit Can Boquet and Sant Joan de Villatorada for sure, and probably rodellar to climb with rope. Also, is E-bloc available to buy in Barcelona?
