Hi guys, We are from Israel, were it is usually quite hot, and coming to a bouldering 'vacation' in Switzerland in October. We heared mainly about Cresciano and Magic Woods and wanted to know which of this sites has better climbing conditions in October, and which one is easier to stay at if we wont be renting a car. That is sleeping in a campsite or in some hostel which are close by to the bouldering areas. Or any other comments you would be happy to tell us about the region. October is a perfect time. There is amazing conditions at Magic Wood, right before the snow comes. Also in Ticino (Cresciano,Chironico and Brione) you will have acceptable conditions this time a year.
Magic Wood has a campsite for climbers directly at the Bouldering Area (3min. walk to the first boulders). In Cresciano there is 1001 Blocco, a packpackers for climbers.

Thanks a lot for the comment, If we stay in the Camping Site near Magic Woods is there a town near by that you can get food from and other stuff and how hard is it getting there if you don't have a car? Also where can we buy a topo for Magic Woods over there? Thanks, Avishai
the next village with a shop, bakery, cahsiermachine... is andeer. you can reach it easily by public bus or try to catch a ride with someone from the camp.the busstop is just right in front of the camp. if you check for the connection. try sbb.ch/fahrplan your destination is Ausserferrera and the bus stop at the camp is called "Schmelzi" we have diffrent topos from magic wood available in the shop. the shop will not be open every day from september on. from monday to friday mostly in evening and on weekends it will be someone there. enjoy sunday.
