The top and
bottom fabrics of the pad are still okay - just the foam got squeezed and flatter. Do you
think a replacement of foam is better idea than buying a new one? What would you do if it is possible to replace the foam (main reason for me would be: it's cheaper)? Thanks in advance. Cheers
in case the
outside material of the crashpad is still in good condition I would replace the
foam. compared to a new one itยดs much cheaper.
but on the
other side itยดs always good to have more than one crashpadย :)
foam isn't that expensive, check your local business sectors, you'll find a dealer. most of them don't know what a pad is, so show him what you want, and he'll know what foam you need... depends... well money is always a reason
I haven't been able to find foam that's hard enough. The foam in pads seem to be significantly harder than the foam in for example an average bed foam mattress. But maybe it's available if you find the right dealer.
you'd need 2 types of foam, soft and hard. my plasmatv came with the exact same foam as protection as is in my pad. don't know where to get this though.
for the softfoam the foam of a mattress will do.
layer the foam as follows: thin hard at the top to spread the force and avoid injuries, then soft in the middle and at the bottom hard again.
