I'm planning a trip to europe in the spring and was wondering what would be the best place for bouldering and some sport climbing. Or better yet, when would be the best time in the spring to go.
Just for Bouldering Fontainebleau. If you want to go bouldering and sport climb, the Peak District is fine - you can go bouldering and climbing on grit and limestone. Finale for climbing and Varraze for bouldering. Relatively close to each other The Palatinate and the Alsace - sandstone boulders, trad and sportclimbing routes Best regards Hartwig
zillertal. lot of realy good bouldering and sportclimbing on granit. and there are a lot more areas in tirol with good routs and boulders. also magicwood is not that far if your basecamp is in tirol. david
Another good option is Frankenjura where you can both boulder and sport climb. Actually, Frankenjura would be my recommendation... but it is pretty old school graded :)
Thanks. Any recommendations on getting around? Seems like renting a car is a must. Anyone know off the top of their head how much it might cost to rent a car for 2 months? or a van?
