Issue: Many of the Areas have different sectors/crags and some of those sectors become the Area Name in the database. Example: Ultrafinale - is it Castelbianco, Terminal, Euskal ... Is Finale, Finale, or Monte Cucco ... which one of these is the Area and crag? 8a could, in some manner, create the Area names and all the routes go into that name file - so when you look at Ultrafinale - you don't have to also look for Albenga, Castelbianco, or the crag names to sort out routes, tick lists, grades ... The same should apply for route names - as many differ just by Capital letters or spelling. This may seem silly, but if you do not know the area well, and are interested in going to that place, you really can get confused.
this is probably a big bother to some and yourself - as it can miss-represent and area/route ... Cheers and thanks - you guys do a solid job overall. Though you do get a lot of climbers against the lists - but that's really a side aspect to this whole site.
coming at it again, but couldn't it be possible to have the same "suggestion" system when you are adding a route as in the "search - ticklist" section. This way there would be fewer misspelling of route names...
The proposed spelling could be based on the ones that have the greatest number of ascents/index, which are usually the correct one.
This way we could avoid multiple spellings for a single route! in the biggest crags, it is difficult to find all routes in a given grade, since the number is very often superior to 100, due to all the wrong spellings...
