Adding crags and routes
I have the same problem.
Hey, you cannot add routes without logging them currently, unless you add them as project / go's. In the mid-term, we would like to allow moderators/authors to add routes to crags that they moderate/manage, but we're not there yet. If you add routes as projects / by ticking them as go's, they will not be in your main logbook. Hope this helps. Thank you, Ben
Hi Ben, so I canโt create new routes anymore? I tried to add a missing boulder in Fontainebleau, but could not select that area anymore. Just let me know, thanks!
Hi David, sorry for the confusion, but we changed the input form for new routes/boulders slightly so you don't have to select necessarily any more an area. Just select the appropriate crag, which is most likely already within an area and create your new route within this crag. If you create a new crag the input form will give you the option to select an area. Hope this works for you. Cheers, Simon

I was climbing in a sector (Tierra de Nadie) where only a few of the routes are listed on 8a.nu/Vertical life. None of the routes I climbed are listed so I would like to add them. I donโt see a way of doing that. Do I perhaps need to subscribe to do this?
You can a do this by adding an ascent. If you add an ascent of a new route (in a new or existing crag), use the โCreate Newโ tab on the add ascent page (8a.nu/addascent).

Hi Julien, you can add crags and routes when adding ascents on the website only (https://www.8a.nu). To do so, please go to add ascent, then click on the create new tab, where you can select country and category, and then create new entities if needed. Note that for every route you add, you have to create an ascent.
Hi, I am currently climbing at Pylos in Pylos, Greece. It's a new crag that was openend in 2022. Is there a way that you add the crag or do we as users have to add everything separately (49 routes)? Currently it is only on 'the crag' but would love to see it on 8a.nu too.
Hi Nigel, the only way to add routes (and thus crags) is via ascents. Send the crag and add the routes ;-) cheers

Can I change the name of a sector we've been developing? WE just realized we got it wrong on the map. Currently is : United States/ Nevada/ Cave Lake/ Steptoe and it should be United States/ Nevada/ Cave Lake/ Cave Creek
Hello! I recently started using the vertical-life app as an ascent journal but some smaller crags around my place are missing.
As I undrestand it's not possible to add new crag and routes using the app... I managed to add a crag and few routes on the site by adding them as my own new ascents.
Is it possible to add the other routes of the crag without loging them as my own ascents ? I don't want to polute my ascent journal with them cause having a clean journal is my main purpose in using the app :) but it would be usefull to just add them now so me and others can log them later... Will it work if I add them as projects then delete them? Are there other ways to do it ?
