8c?

How likely is it that someone who has only climbed V8/7C (not that hard by today's standards) can do V15/8C? Something is wrong with this report on Tuscan. Either the grade of the route, or the grade of what he has previously sent.
I agree that perhaps the problem is not 8c. But say it is, Fred is a very good climber. Doing 8c routes. Perhaps he is a stronger boulderer but just has never really done much, meaning his hardest boulder is only 7c. Remember even now in France bouldering is very much secondary to route climbing and many good climbers never boulder at all.
could it be that Fred have been climbing higher grades but have not put the interest of telling everybody???
Ask Malcolm Smith if 8c exists. Apparently it does not, although he has done an 8c problem (or should that be 8b+?). Has any one climbed a proper 8c? The problem may not be 8c (like many of the other 8c's are probably 8b/+) Just cos somethings graded 8c, it doesnt make it so. The same as if someone states theyve climbed 8c, also doesnt make it so!!
This 8C problem was dubious since the beginning. As far as I know Fred didn't confirm the grade, he only said it is very hard.
