grading is about how difficult a climb is for the climber that's climbing it Huh ? So my best redpoint should have the same grade as Sharma's best, because we both felt it very difficult ? :) I understand what you're saying about grades being relative, but the difference is not that huge. We're talking about a V10, which is pretty damn impressive even if with her small fingers it only felt like a V9 for her. And more importantly she is 8 years old. Keep it to yourself if you don't have anything good or constructive to say.
Climbing grading is based on the feelings by the community. If the average height of the community is changed, some of the grades have to be changed. Ten years ago, grades was based on how grown up male perceived difficulty...
Ah, so that's why you did the poll on how tall the climbing community is...so in 10 years you can compare and change the grades! Now I get it... :-D (just kiddin' :-) )
