Weakness in Forearm after Botched Blood Draw

Hey Dr. 8a, heres the story, 5 days before the New Year, I went into the doctor to have some blood tests done. I made the decision to not climb on the arm for about a week after my blood tests so my veins could heal up. For 4 days after the blood draw (and not climbing or training), my left arm (the arm that the draw was done on) was unbelievably sore but there was no bruising. New Years day I woke up and I had a small bruise by my left wrist and another on the inside of my left bicep. Later that night, after having it covered up all day, I saw my arm was almost 3/4 covered in a bruise, from my wrist to my upper bicep, on the inside of the arm. I went to the doctor who said that I (very very luckily) didn't have an infection, but shouldn't climb on it for 2 weeks, which I obeyed. However, now, my left forearm gets tired a lot faster than the rest of my upper body and other forearm. What exactly, phisologically, is the reason? Did the blood calcify to my forearm? Every morning when I woke up, the blood had settled into my forearm and the bruise got darker over night, so I'm guessing thats where most of the blood got re-absorbed into. After climbing, my forearm would stay pumped for a good day (be super hard, hard as a rock) before coming down. Lately, I could climb again the next day, but the endurance is still not there. Is this something that I will have to deal with for an extended/long period of time or will this get better with training it back up again. I don't remember the last time I couldn't hold on to a crimp, but now I can't do that, plus I get tired in JUST that forearm. I'm concerned I'll have to deal with this forever.  Besides finger curls and things like that for training, is there anything I can do post climbing to calm my forearms down? Heat? Ice? Thanks.
Bump. Please??
Hi Kauz Sorry I have been in Mexico with no connection thefore the delay as to your question the needle went right through your vein making it bleed in to the tissues around it( most likely aggrevated by not letting out the "stase turniquet" fast enought) and most probably clotting the vein which will acount for your apparent disturbed venous return. This will heal with time and training. You can use a cream called Hirudid (breaks down the clotted blood haematoma) and you should try to do some more continous upper body engaging aerobic activity ( kayaking, cranking etc) Best of luck Björn
