Träna förebyggande, klickande finger och värk

Hi Dr8a..  awesome website! I just started climbing and have some problems with my middle finger and would really appreciate to know what to the best course of action is for preventive training. The idea is to really start climbing the coming fall. I started having problems with I tried climbing the first time for real. After that felt sharp pain when closing *both* the PIP and DIP joints of the middle finger to 80-90 degrees and putting it under load. With a more extended finger I hardly didn't feel any pain. I think most of the pain comes from the flexor tendon underneath the intermediate phalange, closer to the DIP joint, and sometimes almost at the DIP joint. I kept away from climbing for a month after the initial pain, then started stretching the fingers after 2 weeks. Then I started climbing again once a week, very easy climbing, just working my very basic forearm stamina. Then after two weeks of climbing twice a week I felt something very mildly in the same finger so I stayed off climbing again for two weeks. Now after the last session I can feel a slight "ache" in the finger again after climbing, and after stretching. The finger has also started to "click" when stretching. But the clicking seems to come from below the PIP joint, closer to my palm. It's the only finger clicking, and it has always felt not as good to stretch as the others. This is actually what I am most worried about. Do I make more harm than good when stretching this finger or should I stretch "through" the clicking? Or do something else? I appreciate any answer. I can stop climbing over the summer if I need to, I just want to work preventive and build strength for the fall. Thanks Olle
Hi OlleA little bit difficult to be sure whats happening but it is most likely a pulley  injury ( se earlier treads in this forum) in the clicking finger this injury could be aggravated by a rupture i the joint capsule but this is very hard to elaborate on without an examination.Continue stretching but limit the stretch circulation (healing) up-if it continues to bother you -consult a hnd specialist physician björn
