Hello. As probably every climber I had an injured my finger (probably pulled my left hand ring-fingers tendon) I haven't felt anything maybe for a year and a half till I started to do new finger strength training. It is not that I pulled it again, I don't feel pain, it doesn't really disturbs my while climbing while I am locking or crimping fingers but when I climb, hang or pull with open fingers, that's when it bothers most. It is not pain but some strange feeling of my tendon from all the way from forearm to the middle of finger. Taping it helps, but not entirely. What could You suggest to overcome this problem? Thank you in advance for Your answer.
Keep on taping and reduce the force being put on the finger (i.e. climb easier)? I'm having a (what wikipedia tells me is called) Tenosynovitis (inflammation of a sheath that surrounds the tendon) which started with dragging pain in my forearm. After maybe 3 or 4 weeks that was gone and I started climbing again (really easy stuff where I barely feel pain) using Schoeffl's "cross taping method". I'm not sure if it was his invention. german article with 2 pictures at the end to give you an idea how it should look like. I'll add that I'm definitely not an expert on this topic and just hope that someone else comes along and corrects me...
