Pronator Teres, Supraspinatus and warmth

Hi Dr. 8a and others, although in the other thread I stated that my ellbow injury is gone, that's not quite true :-( Even after another more than 2 months of no climbing at all (okay, some exercises, but I tried to avoid any pain) it is still bugging me. There are basically three ways I experience the pain: 1. sometimes during the day my muscles around the pronator teres area feel awkward or stiff, like sth isn't quite right. 2. when tensening the muscles in my arm (bent ~90 degrees) i can feel some weak pain all around the ellbow, just like after a really hard training session your joints sometimes hurt a bit. 3. bending the arm as far as possible so that biceps and forearm touch and then turning my palm facing in and out I can feel a slight pain right around the pronator teres. And then the other week when I was doing some dips I must have hurt the supraspinatus of my right shoulder :-( I feel pain around the top and towards the front of my shoulder basically whenever I push agains a resistance. The first two weeks I wasn't able to do a push-up without quite a lot of pain and even now 4 weeks later it hurts quite a bit. Here's the actual question now: Whenever I have a hot shower, the pain is completely gone! I can do all the above describes things without feeling anything (maybe except for push-ups). So I'm wondering how I might be able to use warmth to speed up recovery or prevent these injuries? Any information on that? And what specific exercises do you recommend to strenghen the affected areas (once they are healed) for prevention? Cheers Felix
Okkkaaayyy, why does it say "Author: 8a.nu sucks"???? That surely wasn't I ...
Hi Felix It seems you have inflammation of your extensor tendons as well as a supraspinatus inpigement with inflammation - Yes use warmt and dress excessively warm and use a throrough warm up. also keep way from the crimpy and overhanging stuff - but keep on climbing to help cirkulation-stretch booth areas frekvently - take an antiinflammatory drug ex Voltaren for 3 weeks There is more specific information about all this in an uppcomming article in the yearbook Best of luck Björn
I use a heated weat bag on my elbows most days to help with the healing process. I found its helped with recovery time
