Partial brake in the radial collateral ligament

Hi, I have been climbing for three years. The first and second year i have been climbing without any physical damages but in my third year (on december of 2008) I injured my radial collateral ligament at index finger. When I did my index injury I stopped climbing for four months and I got rehabilitation in the radial collateral ligament but I think that they did not so well.... After that I started to climb another time but now I have the same problem. One week ago I went to a hospital to do a NMR and the results did not tell us anything, is says that all is OK I have been this morning at bones specialist, he has seen the NMR and he said me that i do not have so much possibilities. He told me that I can do another soft sports or if I like to continue climbing I have to go to the surgeon and get a surgical operation. According to his opinion I have a partial brake in radial collateral ligament in my index finger and when he forced my finger at second phalanx to inside (towards to middle finger) I could feel "clik, clik". Are there any ways to recover my finger whithout a surgical operation after a year of the injury??? How long have I wait to start to climb after the surgical operation??? What are the worst consequences in my index finger (if I get a surgical operation)??? Thanks so much for your attention
