Numbness in my finger

Hi. Yesterday I catched a sharp edge of plywood at the top of our indoor wall. Immediately a heard a sound of mashed tendons/muscles/nerves and almost all fingers where strucken by numbness. The sharp edge made a strong pressure in the middle of my hand palm. Today I'm still partially numb in my middle finger (have'nt gotten better since yesterday). I don't feel any pain though and I seem to be as strong as before. I'm wondering if this could be a permanent injury and if it is possible to heal it?
I'm almost certain this is a pinched nerve. About a month ago, i had the same thing happen to me in my index finger while crimping real hard. It freaked me out completely, but i just stayed off it for a day or two, and the numbness went away. I've been good since. However, if you feel any pain, go see a doctor ASAP!
It's been three days now and I'm still feeling the same numbness. I've noticed that if I put just a small pressure on a certain area of my palm I can feel the whole nerv in my index finger. It does'nt seem to get better for now, though there is no pain.
This is most likely a traumatic injury to the median nerve, the sensory inervation, most likely it will subside but keep preassure off the palm. If the is a real crush injury it will take quite a time to heal Björn
Now it have almost been a month. When I push my palm I don't feel the nerve in my finger anymore which is good, though I'm still a bit numb in my finger, maybe I've just gotten used to it. Anyways, maybe it will heal in time. Otherwise it does'nt bother my that much. An advice, never climb on sharp plywood edges!
