musician and climber

Hello ! I'm a   music   student   and musician.   Some time ago   I started   to climb.   Sometimes ,   when I spent  some time   without playing   (I am   a percussionist ) , I find that   I have my  wrists   and fingers   a bit b locked.   I enjoy   climbing , but my job   is to play music   and I have to   take care of   the involved joints   (especially   wrists   and fingers) .   Have you any   experience with it ?   Climbing   is detrimental  for musicians?   Any recommendations ?   Thank you.
hi  im drummer since 13 climbed hard since 23 climbing does no problem at all, even guitar players say fingers are ok on strings, so dont worry. both percussion/drumming and climbing have in some way to do with lactic acid in forearms, so u will have smaaal advantage )))  im serious ) but remember if u start pullin your fingers abruptly hard - apply some gels for joints, and consume glucosamine, as it may be painful first 5-6 months, and then it will be ok
Ps  ask Said Beljay hes percussionist and climbed   9a's)))))
As I were a trainer for Said Belhaj for many years we noticed that he was actually weaker after having played the drums for several years. We thought this had to do with intermuscular coordination and recruitment because after some hours of climbing he was equally strong again. I also have the impression that beginners who have played guitar, piano or violin are normally stronger compared to the average beginner.
String instruments exert the two hands in two very different ways. I have been playing the guitar for over 10 years before I started climbing. I'm a right handed guitarist (i.e. the left hand is on the fretboard) which might explain why, when it comes to climbing, my whole left arm/fore/arm hand is completely bullet-proof while my right one is a valley of injuries...
