I am mostly a crack climber with finger cracks being my specialty, so I was pretty disapointed last week when I was jamming a thin crack and my left hand became immediatley sore. I took several days off. There is currently no pain when I work on my fingerboard. Crimping seems to be no problem. The pain comes when I push down on my pinky knuckle. This makes a pain in my last metacarpal with possible wrist pain. I have been massaging the area and using hot soaks. Could this just be a bruised bone?
Hi
Most likely you have an overstretched or plainly fattigued kollateral ligament in your pinky knucle - try cutting back 10 days on cracks and massage the joint twice daily with Voltaren gel and use imersion in hot water 20 min daily - returning to cracks try ,if poosible, twin taping the fingers
Best of luck

Hello Bjorn, and thanks for your quick response. I have been using cold water treatments for the same hand due to a more recent mild pulley injury. I was told the cold water triggers The Lewis resonse and is better than hot water. Should I use a combination of both soaks or just stick with the hot water for both injuries? Thanks again, Luke
