Hi luke, i had that operation about 3 years ago in my right hand. The result was really good. No more problems in the right hand. But now it starts in my left hand. Make sure you have a very good surgeon. In some cases you need a second operation, because it does not work at first time. The complete recovery needs about 2 months, but if you are careful, you will be able to climb some easy routes after 3 weeks. Good luck!
