First Ascent, then new FA after tacking on lower moves?

Just wondering what one does when they put up a line, call it a First Ascent, then later add moves into the original problem? Is it a new line altogether, or since the same person did both FA's is it just the longer version. Idk if im explaining this well enough. Let me know what you guys think.
