Climbing in europe/ france?

hello  i am an american that has come to europe to only climb until oct 1. i am in marseille at present. i do not have a car and am alone, and i am wondering if this is a major problem. are there many other crags, like ceuse for example, that one does not need a car, and can meet people to climb, and can be self sufficient? what are some other crags where there will be some other climbers staying for a time and where i can walk or hitch to the climbing and also to the town/ market/ store? i am wanting to go to many of the beautiful areas in france and europe.  i do not have much money, but this trip has been a dream for a while. i am finding that maybe ceuse is the only one that i can be at without a car, because it is easy to get from camping to crag and from camping to market/ store by walking or by hitching and there will for sure be other people there. i have climbed to 8b+ routes and 7C+ boulders. since i am on a roadtrip, it is easiest for me to go to one place and stay there for a while. so if you or anyone that you know is climbing consistently at an area, i would love to join, if it is not an inconvience. i am simple and easy going and only want to climb. any advice that you have would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much. sam elias
I will be working in the Avignon area from 4 August to 22 August and should be free weekends.  I will have a car; France has good trains.  I am hoping to climb sport 6abc (7a?).  I have local friends, but they may not be available.  I may not be free Sat. mornings.
