| Spear Me the Details (7a+) | The crux pitch felt way harder than 5.11d; harder than any slab at Wizard's Gate. The first crux "warms you up" with small feet and crimps' crack (used a blue alien before 1st bolt instead of nuts). The second crux has tons of little knobs barely enough to stand on, barely enough to use as handholds. Linked the 5.10c and the two 5.11s (by accident) with an 80m rope... Do yourself a favor and only link the 5.11s and make sure you bring many runners (~10 should do). |

| Sykes Sickle (5c) | What an amazing experience. 1:45 am wake up call. 3 hour approach. 7 pitches and 800ft of climbing. I took a whipper on p1 after climbing through a snowfield to the base of the wall. Topped out at 12500ft in Glacier Gorge. So beautiful. 4 hour descent. My biggest route yet and one of the more epic days in my life. With Ben. A perfect tune up for Squamish... |
